San Bernardino man fatally stabbed by school acquaintance

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

Anthony Fuentes, of San Bernardino, was panhandling at Muscoy Liquor at about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday near Highland Avenue and California Street. He got into an argument with acquaintance Manuel Barrios, 22, at the liquor store, officials said.

When Fuentes tried to leave, Barrios allegedly followed him and a physical altercation ensued. That's when Barrios stabbed Fuentes several times, according to police.

Officers detained Barrios at the scene. Fuentes was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where died from his injuries.
