Child's reaction to receiving Spark of Love toys: PRICELESS
The Ventura County Fire Department surprised a Simi Valley family with Spark of Love toys.Christmas came early for a family in need in Simi Valley, as Spark of Love and local firefighters kicked off their holiday toy giving.

PORT HUENEME, Calif. (KABC) -- The holidays are right around the corner, and many families are struggling like never before. Spark of Love, local firefighters and other community partners are getting an early start with our holiday toy drive and gift giving. A family in need from Simi Valley had Christmas come a bit early.

"Here in Ventura County, it's been amazing the collaboration and partnerships that have been created so we can all give back and support our children," said Ventura County Fire Department's Capt. Brian McGrath.

"It's me and my two boys. We rent a room from a family in the area," said Elizabeth Clews a Simi Valley resident and toy recipient from Spark of Love. "Coming from a foster care background, being a single parent and having that experience of being financially insecure, programs like Spark of Love really make a difference especially during the holidays."

"Seeing their faces when they realized the gifts were for them is something that's going to stick with me," said Clews. "I'm happy they don't have to feel like they're different because of our circumstances."
