SoCal welcomes 'leapling' babies with rare Leap Day birthday
Leap Day 2024 welcomed SoCal's cutest new residents. These "leaplings" share a birthday so rare, that less than .1% of the world's population have it.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Meet Southern California's newest "leaplings"-- babies born on Leap Day, Feb. 29.

Leap Day babies were welcomed in Long Beach, Baldwin Park and Anaheim.

It's a date that only falls once every four years. Less than .1% of the world's population is born on Feb. 29.
