APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A small plane crashed at the Apple Valley Airport on Sunday afternoon, killing two people and halting all flights in and out of the airport, fire officials said.
The Federal Aviation Administration was called to the scene to investigate the incident. Around 3 p.m., firefighters extinguished the fire that erupted as a result of the crash.
Airport officials said the airport would be closed for at least 24 hours.
The cause of the crash remains unknown. No further details were immediately released.
