Diabetes less likely when breastfed

There's another possible health benefit for babies who are breastfed.A study published in the Medical Journal Diabetes Care says that breastfed babies appear to be less likely to develop Type 2 diabetes when they reach adolescence. Researchers found that breast feeding has a protective effect against diabetes, as well as childhood obesity.

They say efforts to encourage breast feeding in populations at high risk for Type 2 diabetes may be useful.
