Firefighters extinguished the smoke in about one hour, according to officials.
The incident was being investigated by the Coast Guard.

Firefighters douse smoking oil on ship
PORT HUENEME, Calif. The dark smoke was from oil on one of the ship's fuel tanks. The ship, The Adriatic, was docked at the Port of Hueneme while workers aboard the ship unloaded liquid fertilizer.
