L.A. to require calorie information

The city of Los Angeles is following the county's lead in considering a law requiring restaurants to list calorie information on menus.The law, passed by a City Council committee, would require restaurant chains with 15 or more locations to post nutritional information on printed menus and menu boards.

The city attorney must now draft an ordinance.

The L.A. County Board of Supervisors is working on a similar ordinance.
