The fire, located at the far west end of the Santa Monica mountain range, has burned about 20 acres of dry bush, but no homes are threatened right now. It was spotted just before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
About 100 firefighters and some water-dropping aircrafts have been called in.
Officials said winds are relatively calm in the area, and the fire is moving at a moderate pace.
There's no word on how the fire started.
