Calif. nurses must get fingerprint check

October 24, 2008 6:02:31 AM PDT

Times investigation that revealed that dozens of state nurses had maintained their licenses after being convicted of crimes.

Some 146,000 nurses were licensed before 1990, the year when the board began requiring new nurses to provide fingerprints.
