At Albertsons, Ralphs, Gelson's and Vons, we checked the lowest price possible with and without club cards for the best bottom line. We looked at boxed stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie mix, dinner rolls and ready made pie crusts, along with the turkey specials.
Without the turkey, here are the results:
Ralphs regular price is $16.14, but with their rewards card you'll pay $9.43. Albertsons sells these items regularly for $15.14, but this week with your club card you'll pay $10.99.
As of Sunday the 16th, Vons' regular price came in at $18.28, but with their card the total is $14.07. And Gelson's doesn't have a club card, but with some of these items on sale this week you will pay $14.62.
When it comes to the bird, each store varies.
Ralphs is offering their turkeys at 37 cents a pound, so you'll be able to pick up a bird under 14 pounds for less than $5. Gelson's doesn't have a turkey special, but offers money back on grocery bills over $100. Vons sells 16-pound frozen turkeys for $4.88 each with a $25 minimum purchase. Albertsons has a buy one, get one free offer with up to a 20-pound frozen turkey with a purchase of $25 or more. A great deal if you're having a huge crowd or planning for December parties.
Keep in mind, many products are non-perishable so they'll keep for awhile. So if you've got space in the pantry and freezer, you've got big holiday bargains for the basics and your bird.
