Cool Kid Connor Paden leads on the court

OAK PARK, Calif. "We all have our different jobs, just like in a family, just like in a job or anything," says Connor. "In a classroom everybody does their own different things. I think it's great and they all should be able to use in later life."

Connor is old enough to coach, but too young to cast a ballot. But that didn't stop him from getting involved in the last presidential election. He made time to get involved in passing /*Proposition C*/ for school funding.

"I can make a difference. I can help other people out. I can help our school by passing that proposition. It's really rewarding," says Connor.

Connor is a sophomore at /*Oak Park High School*/ where he is on both the basketball team and golf team. Connor approaches all his activities with the same great enthusiasm.

"The community service, because I can make an influence on other people. Basketball is a blast to play. Golf -- I just wish I could do everything," says Connor. "Everything together makes my life."

Through all his scholastic and community involvement, Connor got selected to go to the inauguration. While he was there, he went to a conference and heard /*President Obama*/ speak.

"He talked about how we all need to contribute to our society to make it a better place and to improve it. And I think that's absolutely correct," says Connor.

Connor is doing so much for young ones, his school and his community. He is our /*Cool Kid*/.
