Garcia is a 19-year veteran of law enforcement who worked in Laguna Niguel and other south county areas.
He's being held on one count of continual sexual abuse of a child and two counts of aggravated child sexual assault.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says deputies are reviewing evidence to see if there could be other victims.
Garcia is held on $250,000 bail.
