Obese at higher risk for swine flu?

A new study from the /*Centers for Disease Control*/ found that out of 10 patients at a Michigan hospital infected with the /*swine flu*/, nine were obese. Out of the three patients who died, two were obese.

The patients experienced organ failure and blood clots. The doctors say obesity has not previously been identified as a risk factor for severe complications of the flu.

The /*World Health Organization*/ last week reported nearly 95,000 cases of swine flu worldwide including 429 deaths.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
