Obesity passed on by gender?

In a study involving 226 families, British researchers found obese mothers were 10 times more likely to have obese daughters. In addition, obese fathers were six times more likely to have obese sons.

But they say they were surprised to find obese mothers and fathers had no effect on children of the opposite sex.

Researchers say the link may be behavioral rather than genetic.
