O.C. courts to close one day a month

SANTA ANA, Calif. The closures are scheduled for the third Wednesday of every month. Hearings on those days will be moved to days when the courthouse is open.

Documents that must be filed or payments made by August 19 must be put in drop boxes or door slots even though no one will be there to process them.

Courthouse employees will not be paid on closure days.

Judges will continue to be paid because they are either state elected or appointed officials, or they can forgo their salaries.
