Fire damages West L.A. strip mall

WEST LOS ANGELES, Calif. Fire crews were called to the scene of the fire at 11925 W. Santa Monica Blvd. at about 5:15 a.m.

Flames shot through the roof of the building, and the intensity of the heat caused it to collapse.

About 130 L.A. City firefighters knocked down the blaze in just under an hour.

There were no injuries reported.

A number of businesses were damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
