They heard how Downey is a city dedicated to giving and to community service.
"There's so much great community and collaboration here in Downey," said Robert Jagielski, the director of Pupil Services for the Downey Unified School District. "So by Channel 7 focusing on some of the great stuff that's going on, and good things in this community, it might help other communities to say, 'We can do that too.'"
