L.A. activists to decide support for Beck

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES Wednesday's meeting comes as a new report finds racial profiling investigations within the LAPD were flawed. The police commission report found that the LAPD mishandled close to a third of the racial profiling investigations that they were conducting by not asking proper questions or not interviewing witnesses.

The man who handles those investigations for the LAPD admits mistakes were made, but said they did not affect the outcome of the investigations.

Beck will probably get an earful from activists about the report at their meeting at Leimert Park.

Beck has already received the endorsement of the mayor and the police commission, but activists said they'll decide whether to give their stamp of approval after their meeting.
