Man barricades self in Studio City apartment

STUDIO CITY, Calif. The situation began at 1:50 p.m. at 3900 Riverton Avenue, near Ventura Boulevard, when "a family member reported a man with a gun in a house," Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cleon Joseph said.

"It sounds vague, but it's all the information we have now," Joseph said.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday, the situation had not been resolved. The man had not surrendered, though some residents had been allowed to go home to their apartments in the complex.
