Teen hospitalized surfing on a Christmas tree

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says the 18-year-old and another teen were riding on trees behind a sport utility vehicle in San Clemente when the car took a corner at 25 mph.

The tree veered wide and the 18-year-old was slammed into a parked car. He suffered moderate injuries, but officials expect him to survive.

Amormino says the driver fled. Authorities are now investigating the incident as a felony hit and run.
