February 1, 2010 12:00:00 AM PST
The United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton is warning area residents it will be staging high-explosive munitions exercises Tuesday through Thursday that could produce loud noises up to 50 miles away.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Marines will be firing 1,750 pounds of munitions into the Whiskey impact area as part of mine-clearing, line-charge exercises.

Depending on weather conditions, the sounds of the explosions could be carried into nearby areas.

Additional information on increased noise levels is available on weekly noise advisories posted on the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Web site.
