'At the Movies' to air last show in August

LOS ANGELES In a company statement from Disney-ABC Domestic Television, the move was described as "a very difficult decision." The statement says the show was no longer sustainable from a business perspective.

The nationally syndicated show is currently hosted by A.O. Scott and Michael Phillips, though it was popularized by /*Roger Ebert*/ and the late /*Gene Siskel*/, under the name "Siskel & Ebert."

The statement thanked Siskel and Ebert, calling the critics "incomparable" and "brilliant."

Roger Ebert commented on his Twitter account (@ebertchicago), "RIP, 'At the Movies.' Memories."

After Siskel's death in 1999, Richard Roeper joined the show and it was re-titled "At the Movies with Ebert and Roeper." In 2008, film critics Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz took over as hosts before giving way to Scott and Phillips in 2009.

The final episode of "At the Movies" will air August 14. The final episodes of the series can be seen on ABC7 every Saturday at 4 p.m.
