Actor Mel Gibson is making a movie set donation in Mexico, where his film shoot caused some controversy. The governor of the Mexican Gulf coast state of Veracruz says Gibson will donate sets from the movie he's currently filming to a future museum.

In January, 1,500 inmates were moved out of a prison to make way for the production. That led to a protest by families of the prisoners.

The jail will be converted into a museum once Gibson is done filming.

The film is tentatively titled "How I Spent My Summer Vacation." Gibson filmed his 2006 Mayan-language movie "Apocalypto" in Veracruz.
