According to the rocker's Web site, he was urged to go to the hospital as he was preparing to take the stage in San Antonio on that night.
A statement on his Web site says, the 47-year-old celebrity is now "doing well and beginning the recovery process," after undergoing an emergency procedure Monday.
Michaels was the frontman for the '80s hair band Poison.
