His ex-wife, Tina Rhodes, was reported missing last week, and investigators believed she had been kidnapped by Rhodes. Her body was found Monday in a rural area outside of Carroll County, Missouri.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Department alerted Newport Beach police that Rhodes may be on his way to the city because his grandmother lived there.
Rhodes was stopped after his black 1997 Ford Thunderbird was spotted driving through the city. He was arrested without incident.
