Halloween lanterns recalled for overheating

The consumer product safety commission and dollar tree stores are recalling nearly 700,000 battery-operated Halloween lanterns because of overheating.The plastic lanterns are shaped like a pumpkin, ghost or skull.

Officials said the bulb can get too hot, causing fires or children to get burned.

The government also said parents should look for flame-resistant costumes without baggy sleeves, long capes or long skirts that could catch fire or cause children to trip.
