The Los Angeles City Council is offering a $75,000 reward to find those responsible for a double murder in Glassell Park last September. The victims, brothers Jose Martinez, 24, and Samuel Martinez, 20, were walking down the street when two men approached them and asked about their gang affiliation.

Police said they were not involved with gangs but before they could answer they were shot to death.

"Whomever did what they did deserves to be jailed and pay for their actions. They were not supposed to be taken in a manner that was so cruel," said the wife of Jose Martinez, Darlene.

A relative of the brothers was seriously wounded in the attack.

Police called it a senseless act of violence against two fine young men that has left a family broken.

The LAPD urged anyone with information to call 877-LAPD-247, or 877-527-3247.
