Report: Russia's top transport officer fired

Russian news agencies reported Wednesday that President Dmitry Medvedev fired a top official of the country's transport police following a suicide bombing at Moscow's busiest airport.Monday's bombing killed 35 people and injured 180.

The reports also said the chief of the transport police at the airport and two officers have also been fired by Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev.

Transport police were responsible for guarding access to the area where the attack occurred. Medvedev has been criticizing transport police for being passive.

As U.S. and Russian relations improve, the commander of NORAD said he may meet with Russian commanders to discuss the deadly bombing.
