MRI may predict smoker's quitting success

LOS ANGELES

In a study done at /*UCLA*/, experts monitored participants with an MRI while the subjects watched commercials about quitting smoking.

Experts said the participants who showed activity in their medial prefrontal cortex were significantly more likely to smoke less in the month that followed.

Researchers said the next step will be to determine which advertisements are the most effective.
