Ralphs Grocery Co. has pleaded no contest to overcharging customers at stores in Los Angeles.

More than 60 charges were filed last year after investigators found some items were mislabeled. There were also allegations of false advertising and selling products that weighed less than they should.

Ralphs claims the charges involved isolated events. The grocery store chain entered pleas Monday, shortly before the case was scheduled to go to trial.

A date to determine any penalties will be held Friday.
