Britain's foreign secretary visits Tunisia

February 8, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague arrived in Tunisia on Tuesday to meet with key figures in the country's interim government.

Hague is on a three-day trip to northern Africa and the Middle East, all while protests are going on in the area. His visit comes after the ouster of the former dictator of Tunisia.

The uprising in Tunisia kicked off protests in other nations in the region.

Meanwhile, Tunisia's Defense Ministry called up recently retired troops on Monday to help the nation contain the unrest.
