5.1 quake hits Baja California; felt in SoCal

A preliminary 5.1-magnitude earthquake rattled Baja California, Mexico, on Friday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck 12 miles south of Guadalupe Victoria, Mexico, at 9:47 a.m. PT. The area where the quake hit has a sparse population.

The quake was felt in Southern California and the border region in southwest Arizona.

There were no reports of any injuries or damage.
