A drunk driver was convicted Friday of killing another motorist by driving through a red light and crashing into the victim in an intersection.

Alice Darlene Moya, 21 from Lynwood, pleaded guilty to one felony count of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. She was sentenced to one year in jail and three years of probation.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on April 24, 2010, Moya was driving home from a party in the city of South Gate while under the influence of alcohol. As Moya approached the intersection of Gilbert Street and Rosecrans Avenue in Fullerton, she drove through a red light and crashed into a sedan driven by 56-year-old Sae Jun Koh.

Moya sustained minor abrasions as a result of the crash. Koh was transported to University of California, Irvine Medical Center, where he died on May 17, 2010.

Moya had a blood alcohol level of .14 percent and was 20 years old at the time of the crash.
