Jewelry store robbery suspect escapes

One person was shot in a jewelry store robbery in downtown L.A. Thursday night, according to the LAPD.

Police say three male suspects, one armed with a gun, entered a jewelry store on the 600 block of S. Broadway. Shots were fired, according to police.

A victim was found at the location. The victim's condition was not released.

Two suspects were in custody, and the gun was recovered.

A third suspect was believed to have been injured. Police at the scene followed a blood trail into the Hayward Manor Apartments nearby.

According to the LAPD, the injured suspect was inside the building. Some or all of the building was evacuated.

After an extensive search of the area, officers lifted the perimeter. It's believed the suspect escaped.
