The new charges are for travelers who wait until 24 hours before their departure to pay for carry-on or checked luggage.
Spirit will charge an extra $5 for online payments and an extra $10 for payments made over the phone.
And customers who pay at the airport will have to cough up around $40 extra.
The changes apply to passengers who booked on or after Mar. 24.
