Got groceries? Wal-Mart testing home delivery

April 24, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is testing its new home grocery delivery service called, "Walmart To Go" in San Jose, Calif.

Customers can order straight from Wal-Mart's website for home delivery. You can order groceries, health and beauty products, over-the-counter medicines and household supplies.

The world's largest retailer is trying to compete with Amazon.com Inc., which provides the same service.

Wal-Mart is facing increasing price competition from dollar chains and online retailers. Many major retailers have been beefing up their Web businesses to grab some of the continuing growth online and keep their sites competitive. They're adding millions of grocery and other products, new kinds of services and even alliances with rival retailers.
