Matthew Anthony Maldonaldo was born earlier this week at a medical center in Salinas in Monterey County.
Matthew weighed in at 14 pounds, 3.6 ounces. That appears to be a new /*California*/ record, besting the state's previous biggest by 2 ounces.
The parents said doctors had warned them a big one was coming.
