Man who picked up missing Whittier girl faces felony charge

Ivan Felipe Cerda, 20, was taken into custody for the felony charge of deprivation of custody of a child after he reportedly ran off with a 12-year-old Whittier girl after meeting her online.

The man who met a 12-year-old Whittier girl online and picked her up from her home is facing a felony charge.

Ivan Felipe Cerda is being held on $100,000 bail for deprivation of custody of a child.

Police said Cerda met Stephanie Rodriguez on a social networking website. He picked her up from her Whittier home Friday afternoon.

Investigators found the two Saturday morning near Anza, east of Temecula. The pair reportedly visited his parents near Oceanside.

Investigators have determined that Rodriguez was not sexually abused.
