Police initially received a call about a disturbance at shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday. As responding officers were arriving on scene, more reports came in about multiple shots fired in the same area of Kimball Avenue and Juanita Street.
When officers arrived, they were met with a large crowd police described as hostile and uncooperative. Authorities found that there had been some sort of party at the location when a fight broke out, during which the victim was shot.
The victim, whose identity was withheld, was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
