Study: Air pollution contributes to depression, memory loss

COLUMBUS, Ohio

Hundreds of past studies have focused on the effects of polluted air on the lungs and heart. Neuro-scientists at Ohio State University have now linked fine-particle air pollution to slow thinking, bad memory and depressive-live behavior in mice.

The exposed animals were found to have abnormal brain cells that inhibited the flow of electrical impulses that transmit information.
