California Supreme Court upholds 'Ninja Prowler' death sentence

David Lynn Scott III was sentenced to die for the 1992 rape and murder of librarian Brenda Gail Kenny and a string of other sex assaults that terrorized Riverside County during a five-month stretch between 1992 and 1993.

Scott was sentenced to death in 1998.

Scott was dubbed the "Ninja Prowler" because he entered his victims' homes wearing a mask and dark clothing and carrying two swords and a pistol.

The Supreme Court upheld the death sentence by a 7-0 vote on August 11.
