Plane crashes at air show in Kansas City, pilot killed

KANSAS CITY, Mo

The pilot of a small plane was performing tricks when his plane started spiraling downward and eventually slammed into the ground. The plane burst in flames.

The pilot, identified as Bryan Jensen, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Spectators were asked to leave the airport after the crash. However, the show resumed on Sunday.

Jensen flew a custom-built biplane dubbed "The Beast" in air shows across the country. His website says he has logged more than 23,000 hours of flight time for major airlines and was promoted to captain by /*Delta Airlines*/ earlier this year.

A message left Sunday morning on Delta's after-hours pager was not immediately returned.
