Shoplifter arrested after filling out raffle ticket

August 23, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
Deputies had an easy time finding an alleged shoplifter in Penn Valley, Calif., because she filled out a raffle ticket at the store immediately after the crime.

A woman was caught on surveillance camera browsing items on shelves and occasionally ducking down to stuff them in her handbag.

Shop owners say the young woman eventually paid for something and spotted a container for a raffle. She filled out the ticket with her name, phone number and address.

Needless to say, 20-year-old Elizabeth Null was arrested and disqualified from the raffle. She faces a misdemeanor shoplifting charge and felony possession of stolen property.
