Lightning strikes spark fires across Southern California

PINON HILLS, SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the brush fire near Fort Tejon Road and Highway 138 in San Bernardino County was about 375 acres. By Saturday night, it was 40 percent contained. No structures were threatened.

Firefighters say their biggest challenge right now is the unpredictable weather.

In the San Bernardino National Forest, seven small fires burned. The largest of the set was four to five acres near Highway 38 in Angelus Oaks.

In Los Angeles County, a four-acre fire burned near Avenue J and 90th Street East in the Antelope Valley.
