Bear peruses produce at Alaska grocery store

KETCHIKAN, Alaska

A brown bear cub strolled into Tatsuda's IGA in Ketchikan and started climbing over the fruits and vegetables.

Shoppers and store employees gathered around the bear to get a better look, shoot video and take pictures.

The cub paced back and forth over the lettuce and cabbage and other produce until one customer decided to take matters in his own hands.

He captured the bear, and it was sent out the store's back door into the woods.

Several thousand dollars of ruined produce was donated to a livestock owner.
