Investigators say Jerome Isaac used a canister sprayer to douse a 73-year-old woman with a flammable liquid before setting her on fire with a Molotov cocktail.
Issac surrendered to police and confessed the woman owned him about $2,000 for some work he had once done for her.
Issac appeared in court with visible burns on his face but said nothing.
