Gov. Brown declares state of emergency due to tanker fire

MONTEBELLO, Calif.

The declaration allows for federal funding to pay for replacing the bridge.

All lanes of the 60 Freeway reopened on Tuesday morning after westbound lanes were shutdown overnight from the 605 Freeway to Garfield Avenue.

Crews are working on demolishing the fire-damaged Paramount Boulevard overpass. It was damaged last Wednesday when a gasoline tanker caught fire last week underneath the bridge.

Westbound lanes of the freeway will be closed again from San Gabriel Boulevard to Paramount Boulevard 11 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday to continue the demolition.

A few of the eastbound lanes will also be closed overnight from Wilcox Avenue to Paramount Boulevard due to the work, but lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Wednesday.
