Torrance man's killer still at large one year later

TORRANCE, Calif.

Joe Gosinski's killer has never been found. But his loved ones are still holding out hope for justice.

"It's still an incredible shock, and we miss him so much," said friend Gary Gawles. "He is on our minds quite a bit."

Gosinski was killed Dec. 23, 2010. The 44-year-old was murdered at his Mustang shop Chicane Sport Tuning.

"I can't believe a year has passed and we still don't know what happened," said Gawles.

On Saturday, Gosinski's friends celebrated his life and raised awareness about his untimely death.

Over 30 Mustangs roared down Pacific Coast Highway from his home in Huntington Beach to his business in Torrance.

Friends of all ages were lighting candles, leaving flowers, and toasting Gosinski's life that ended too soon.

"If you met him for the first time you would miss him," said friend Jacob Gawles. "He really had an effect on people."

"The night of his death he called me at home to check on me and my family that was visiting," said Gary Gawles. "I said 'see you in the morning,' and I came to what was a nightmare in the morning.

With the case still unsolved, Gosinski's loves ones are looking for answers.

"How do we get rid of evil in this world?" said Gary Gawles. "I know it's an unrealistic dream, but for Christmas and for everything that's what I wish."

"I wish he was back," said friend Jason Lord. "I wish that he was a part of my life again."

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Torrance Police Department at 310-618-5719.
