Giovanni Ramirez, ex-suspect in Bryan Stow beating, released from prison

LOS ANGELES

Giovanni Ramirez was released on parole March 17 from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego. Ramirez was released into parole's Region 3, which is Los Angeles County. Ramirez was originally slated for release in late April.

A judge denied a request for Ramirez's release last September. The request alleged that Ramirez's due process rights were violated.

Ramirez was arrested in May 2011 as the main suspect in the beating of /*Bryan Stow*/, which took place on the Dodgers' opening day. The beating left Stow in critical condition with head injuries.

Upon further investigation, the LAPD later arrested Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood for the attack and Ramirez was exonerated.
