Man arrested for hugging, kissing girl in Ventura library

VENTURA, Calif.

Police said two teenage girls called 911 about 3:30 p.m. saying a man was making aggressive sexual advances toward them while they were reading at E.P. Foster Library.

One girl, the 13 year old, told police the man complimented her on her looks, then suggested she should be involved in the adult film industry. The girl said the suspect asked her for her phone number and grabbed her hand and kissed it. Then he allegedly hugged her, even though she refused.

The girls ran out of the library and called for help.

Responding officers searched the area and found John Henry White, 44, of Santa Paula about a block away. The girls positively identified White as the suspect.

White was arrested on counts of child annoyance and battery.
